programs. Below is a list of research topics relevant to marine management
at Ningaloo. Support (operational and/or financial) is available for
selected projects.
Comparison of the inter-tidal molluscs between north and south
Ningaloo Marine Park.
Assessment
of ecosystem effects of targeted fish species on coral reef communities
(i.e. Cascade effects) in the Ningaloo marine reserves.
Coral
species distributions in seaward deepwater coral reef communities
of the Ningaloo marine reserves.
Characteristics
of the flora and fauna of selected rocky shore/intertidal reef platforms
within the Ningaloo marine reserves.
Characteristics
of the flora and fauna of soft sediment communities in deeper offshore
waters of the Ningaloo marine reserves and Exmouth Gulf.
Characteristics
of the flora and fauna of macroalgae and seagrass communities in deeper
offshore waters of the Ningaloo marine reserves.
Characterisation
of seabird distributions and abundances in the Ningaloo marine reserves.
Identification
of spawning sites of targeted finfish species in the Ningaloo marine
reserves Marine Park.
Characterise the sediments in relation to toxicants, in designated
mooring and anchoring areas of Ningaloo Marine Park.
